This particular excursion will take you to discover very special places in the Po Delta Natural Park, a real amazing uncontaminated natural place, and you will enjoy the internal navigation connecting one of the biggest river of Italy to the Venetian Lagoon.

ITINERARY

• 09.00 a.m.: boarding on the motor-ship of Delta Tour’s fleet at the landing-stage in Taglio di Po (RO). Navigation along the Po River coming into contact with the uncontaminated nature of the Delta Po Natural Park. We are going to sail the river up to Volta Grimana and and after the first lock we will navigate the arm called Po di Levante and then the waterway Po-Brondolo. We are going to pass through the lock in Cavanella d’Adige and the lock in Brondolo and we will have experience of these waterlifts, built after some technical designs by Leonardo da Vinci. In Brondolo we are going to leave the Po River and enter the Vemetian Lagoon.
• 11.30 a.m.: disembarking in CHIOGGIA on the bridge Ponte dell’Unione. In Chioggia we will have am pleasent walk in the typical narrow streets called "calli", going into the fishermens' life with their nets, the boats and the unforgettable fish smell. We will reach Vigo Square, where the pillar with the Venetian-Byzantine capital dating back to the 12th century and the winged lion on its top show the historical and cultural connection with the City of Venice. We will visit St. Mary's Cathedral dating back to the 11th century but rebuilt in 1674 following a plan by Baldassarre Longhena, after a great fire. Next to the cathedral you will see the ancient belltower dating back to the 14th century.
• 01.00 p.m.: boarding and navigation to Venice.
• 01.15 p.m.: our bord kitchen will serve you a typical venetian lunch based on fish with the following menù: aperitif: Bellini, hors-d'ouvre: shrimps and pickled anchovies, first course: Fusilli alla Marinara (pasta with seafood), main course: mixed fried fish, vegetables in season, wine and water, fruit, coffee, cover and service.
• 3.00 p.m.: Arrival on the SAINT GEORGE ISLAND, once known as the Island of the Cypresses. Visit to St. Georg's Church, masterpiece of the religious architecture created by Andrea Palladio. The church was started in 1566 and completed by Simon Sorella in 1610, after Palladio's death. The church resembles Palladio’s Church of Redeemer. The inside has the form of a Latin cross with three aisles preserves masterpieces created by Jacopo da Bassano, Palma il Giovane and Carpaccio. The presbytery owns two beautiful Tintoretto’s paintings: “The Last Supper” and “The fall of the manna”, which surround the wonderful marble altar created by Gerolamo Campagna. Panoramic view of St. Mark's basin and navigation along the Giudecca Canal Entering where we will adimire some of the most beautiful churches of Venice, among them: The Redeemer's Church, The Church of the Spinters, San Giorgio Maggiore and the impressive Basilica of the Salute.
• 6.00 p.m.: Arrival in Fusina, disembarking and end of the services.

The price includes: navigation, lunch on board, and our tour leader.

The price doesn’t include: tickets, bus service and everything not mentioned in the program.
